    World Stage Design

Evolution Furniture colorful lounge seating installed for World Stage Design 2025 in Sharjah.

Held every four years in a different international destination, World Stage Design is the world's leading exhibition dedicated to performance design. For the 2025 edition at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, Evolution Furniture was commissioned to deliver the hospitality furniture programme across public lounge environments, creating colourful spaces that reflected the creativity and diversity of the global design community.

Working with an intentionally bold design language, Evolution curated an eclectic furniture collection featuring vibrant colours, sculptural forms and varied textures. The result transformed circulation areas and gathering spaces into welcoming hospitality environments that encouraged conversation, networking and creative exchange throughout the exhibition.

    The Challenge

Unlike traditional conferences or corporate events, World Stage Design demanded furniture that became part of the overall visual experience. The brief called for hospitality environments that complemented an exhibition celebrating imagination, theatricality and artistic experimentation while remaining comfortable and practical for visitors throughout the event.

Achieving this required carefully balancing colour, furniture styles and spatial layouts so that every lounge area felt cohesive without becoming repetitive, allowing multiple environments to coexist across the venue.

    Space Planning & Guest Experience

Hospitality environments were distributed across the academy's public areas to support natural visitor movement and provide informal meeting points throughout the venue.

Soft seating clusters encouraged small group conversations, while larger sofa arrangements created comfortable networking lounges. Accent chairs, coffee tables, ottomans and occasional furniture were mixed to produce a variety of seating experiences, ensuring each area offered a different atmosphere while remaining visually connected through the overall colour palette.

The result was a series of inviting temporary interiors that enhanced the visitor journey without competing with the surrounding exhibition displays.

    Project Outcome

World Stage Design 2025 showcased Evolution Furniture's ability to deliver highly creative hospitality environments that go beyond conventional event furniture layouts.

By combining a broad range of furniture collections with an expressive colour palette, Evolution created inviting spaces that supported networking, relaxation and informal collaboration while reflecting the artistic identity of one of the world's most significant performance design exhibitions.

    Project Ecosystem

World Stage Design 2025 formed part of an international exhibition programme co-produced by OISTAT and Sharjah Performing Arts Academy. Made to Belong

Evolution Furniture supplied bespoke furniture for a premium brand activation.

Branding is often treated as something added at the end.

A logo placed on a counter. A graphic applied to a table. A familiar colour introduced through cushions or upholstery.

These elements can make a brand visible, but visibility alone does not always create a branded experience.

The most successful environments feel as though every element belongs.

Furniture can communicate identity through colour, shape, material, texture and finish. A carefully designed reception counter can establish the tone from the moment guests arrive. A distinctive seating arrangement can become a natural focal point. Even a small detail, repeated consistently, can connect the furniture to the wider creative direction.

Not every piece needs to carry a logo.

Sometimes a brand is more recognisable through its visual character than its name. It may be expressed through a particular colour combination, a recurring shape or the way materials are layered throughout the environment.

Subtlety can often create a stronger result.

Furniture that is overbranded may feel temporary or disconnected from the space around it. When customisation is considered as part of the design from the beginning, branding feels integrated rather than applied.

The furniture still needs to work.

A branded counter must support the team using it. Custom seating must remain comfortable. Statement pieces need to be positioned carefully so they attract attention without disrupting movement or limiting the usefulness of the space.

This is where standard rental pieces and bespoke elements can work together.

Existing furniture can provide the foundation of an environment, while customised finishes, upholstery, accessories or signature pieces introduce a more distinctive identity. This approach allows the space to feel considered without requiring every item to be created from the ground up.

The objective is not simply to make the brand more visible.

It is to make the entire environment feel like an expression of the brand.

Because the strongest branded furniture does not look as though something has been added to it

    .

It looks as though it could never have belonged anywhere else.
